ADULT
EDUCATION
Or Emet offers
a variety of adult education programs. Call now to find out about
current and upcoming classes offered.
CHAI KIDS
A unique educational
program for children ages 5 - 8, Chai kids meets twice monthly on
Sunday afternoons for a celebration of Jewish values, traditions
and holidays through "hands-on" activities and a thoughtful,
enriching curriculum. Festivals such as Sukkot and Passover
as well as Torah concepts of tzedakah and Tikkun Olam take on deeper
meaning in an atmosphere of empathy, respect and encouragement.
HEBREW
/ JUDAICA CLASSES
The facets of
Or Emet's Hebrew education program... Hebrew reading, Jewish history,
Torah values, holidays and Judaic culture... are presented through
an integrated and involving curriculum. The goal of these
classes is to develop an understanding and appreciation of the events
and ideas that form the foundation for living a meaningful Jewish
life. Our teachers create an exuberant, non-threatening
environment in which learning becomes a joyful experience.
The curriculum progresses from Kitah Alef (age9) to Kita Bet (age
10) to Kitah Gimel (age 11) through Kitah Dalet (age 12).
BAR
/ BAT MITZVAH
Or Emet encourages
all students to participate in Bar/Bat Mitzvah tutoring during their
final year (Kitah Dalet) of religious classes. Emphasis in
religious classes focus on understanding and applying Torah principles
in one's personal and community life, gaining insights into the
course of Jewish history and improving Hebrew reading and understanding.
Bar/Bat Mitzvah tutoring prepares the students to participate fully
and competently in the honor of reading from the Torah and reciting
the Haftorah.
Please visit the Bar & Bat Mitzvah
page for a list of Saturday morning prayers and recordings.
